Happy New Year is an upcoming 2014 Bollywood action comedy-drama film directed by Farah Khan and produced by Gauri Khan under the banner of Red Chillies Entertainment. The film has an ensemble cast which includes, Shahrukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Sarah Jane Dias, Boman Irani, Vivaan Shah, Sonu Sood and Jackie Shroff. The film will be distributed worldwide by Yash Raj Films.
This will be the third collaboration of Shahrukh Khan with the director; they previously worked on Main Hoon Na (2004) and Om Shanti Om (2007), the latter of which also featured Padukone as the female lead. The tagline of the film indicates that it is a musical heist.The film is scheduled to be released on Diwali, 23 October 2014,[3] in three different languages Hindi, Tamil and Telugu

Storyline :
 Farah Khan is known for her larger than life characters and films and her forthcoming ‘Happy New Year’ is going to be no different. Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, John Abraham and Boman Irani, Khan is still on the lookout for her female lead. However, BizAsia has learnt more about the plot of the movie.The story surrounds four friends who are led in one way or another to take part in a dance competition. The friends – played by the male characters – have just one thing going against them and that is their inability to dance. The film certainly sounds right up Khan’s street as it will enable her to show off her choreography as well as her directorial skills.Khan, it is thought, is currently deciding between Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra for the leading lady’s role.
